About the HEIC Format
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) has been the iPhone's default photo format since iOS 11. At the same quality, HEIC files are about half the size of JPG, saving precious phone storage.
The catch is compatibility: Windows PCs, Android phones and many websites can't open HEIC. Converting to JPG — the most universal format — makes your photos work everywhere.
